Reduction of the piston of the first cylinder in the provision of the top dead point (TDP)

The highest point of a piston stroke in the cylinder is called as the Top Dead Point (TDP). Strictly speaking, in 4-stroke engines in the course of rotation of a cranked shaft this situation is reached by each of pistons twice: once at the end of a step of compression and the second – at the end of a final step. When performing procedures of control and adjustment of the engine the provision VMT of the end of a step of compression of the piston is in most cases used (usually the first cylinder).

Need for reduction of the piston(s) in situation VMT arises when carrying out many procedures, in particular, at adjustment of phases of gas distribution, replacement of components of the GRM drive and so forth.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Make sure that transmission is transferred to neutral situation and strongly cock the parking brake, or prop up back wheels of the car antiretractable boots. On the petrol engine also disconnect system of ignition, having disunited electric sockets of primary (NV) contour (a wire of smaller diameter) of bobbin assemblies (see the Head Elektrooborudovaniye of the engine). Take a key from the ignition lock. Turn out candles (see the Head Nastroyki and routine maintenance of the car).
2. Reduction of any of pistons in situation VMT is made by a provorachivaniye of a cranked shaft of the engine by one of the ways described below. If to look at the engine in front (from the GRM drive), rotation of a cranked shaft clockwise will be considered normal.
    The most effective method is the shaft provorachivaniye in the normal direction (do not try to turn a shaft in an opposite direction at all!) for the bolt screwed in an end face of its forward pin by means of a face key with the ratchet drive

    On some models for this purpose it is necessary to remove the lower filter from the forward passenger;

    Use of a remote control functioning of a starter will allow to save time (follow instructions of manufacturers of the device). As soon as the piston appears rather close from VMT of the end of a step of compression, the starter stops and further adjustment is carried out by the method described in point and; In the presence of the assistant the preliminary provorachivaniye of the engine can be carried out by short inclusions of a starter from a driver's place under the leadership of the operator. The same principle, as described in point b. Final adjustment, besides, is made manually, by means of a face key (see point and).
3. On the petrol engine 2UZ-FE control of distribution of ignition is exercised by the onboard processor by means of the bobbin assemblies established over each candle (see the Head Elektrooborudovaniye of the engine).
4. For reduction of the engine in situation VMT turn out a candle of the first cylinder and screw on its place kompressiometr, the carving nozzle with a connecting hose not less than 15 centimeters long will be required (see the Head Dvigatel).

5. Start turning a cranked shaft for a pulley bolt in the normal direction (see paragraph 2). Approach of the piston to the provision VMT of the end of a step of compression is followed by rise in pressure in the cylinder. Continue to turn a shaft until there is a combination of adjusting tags (address to an accompanying illustration), at casual "proskakivaniye" of situation VMT dump pressure on the measuring instrument and turn a shaft on two complete revolutions!
6. A guarantee of reduction of the engine in the provision VMT of the end of a step of compression of the piston of the first cylinder is adequate combination of adjusting tags on asterisks cranked and camshafts.
7. Now, that serially, as ignition (see Specifications) to bring into VMT pistons of the remained cylinders rather simply consistently to turn a cranked shaft in the normal direction with a step:

    On engines 2UZ-FE – 180 °; On engines 1HD-FTE – 360 °.
