1.7.13. Wheel replacement

Establish the car on an equal, strong and nonslipping platform.

Turn on the alarm light system, to tighten the parking brake, on an automatic transmission establish the switching lever in the provision of a parking of R, on a mechanical transmission or Easytronic include the 1st transfer or a backing.

Will expose according to law requirements a sign of an emergency stop.

Get a spare wheel from a luggage carrier or from under a car floor.

Before lifting of the car bring forward wheels into direct situation.

It is strictly forbidden to change some wheels at the same time.

Block a wheel located on a diagonals to replaced, having enclosed before and behind a wheel wedges or similar subjects.

At soft soil enclose under a jack a strong lining in the maximum thickness 1 see.

NOTE Use of thicker linings can lead to jack and car damage. In the lifted car there should not be people or animals. Do not climb under the car lifted by a jack. Do not start the engine at the lifted car.

Rasfiksiruyte a wheel cap a screw-driver also remove a cap. For this purpose insert a screw-driver into lateral dredging of a cap of a wheel.

Remove a wheel cap by means of a hook.

On other execution the cap of a wheel acts in film together with wheel bolts.

On light-alloy wheels: wring out a wheel cap by means of a screw-driver and remove a cap, having placed for this purpose a screw-driver in lateral dredging of a cap.

Remove covers of bolts from wheel bolts.

On light-alloy wheels with anticreeping protection: turn off and remove a cap by means of the special key which is available in a set of tools.

Turn off wheel bolts by means of a face wrench for wheel bolts, thus insert a key against the stop.

Marks in the bottom edge of a body specify places for jack installation under the car bottom.

On some executions of cars of an installation site are closed by hatches – extend hatches outside.

Before jack installation manually establish necessary height. A shoulder of a jack establish in front (or behind) so that jack capture (it is specified by an arrow in drawing) covered a vertical edge and entered into a cut in it.

At rotation of the handle watch that the edge of a podpyatnik of a jack motionlessly stood on the earth vertically under a capture place.

If in the course of lifting the podpyatnik appears not strictly under an installation point, immediately carefully lower the car and repeat procedure of installation of a jack.

Replace a wheel.

Twist bolts of a wheel and slightly to tighten them, thus insert a face wrench against the stop.

On other execution in the beginning establish a wheel cap, and then twirl wheel bolts.

Lower the car.

Densely tighten wheel bolts cross-wise, thus insert a face wrench against the stop.

Before installation of a cover of a wheel clear a wheel on a site of tightening holders. The valve symbol from the back party of a cover of a wheel should indicate the wheel valve.

Establish and fix коппак or a cover of a wheel and, respectively, a cover of bolts of a wheel.

On light-alloy wheels establish and fix a wheel cap, thus a pin on a reverse side of a cap insert into the corresponding opening in a wheel.

On light-alloy wheels with anticreeping protection establish a wheel cap. Insert and twirl the device of anticreeping protection.

Close a cover a jack installation site on the car bottom. Clean the removed wheel. Clean the tool and a sign of an emergency stop.

Check pressure in tires of the established wheel, if necessary modify.

By means of a dinamometrichesky key check the moment of an inhaling of bolts of a wheel on the established wheel, if necessary modify it.

Replace the replaced defective tire.

At the first possibility replace the established emergency wheel with the normal.
