4.2.4. Tires which are not afraid of punctures (tire "RunFlat")

Some ranks of models can be equipped as an option with properties of an emergency course («Run-Flat-Tyres»). Thanks to the strengthened lateral walls they do by possible nothing limited continuation of movement in case of failure. Tires with properties of an emergency course in anything do not concede to ordinary tires on their dynamic properties in movement. In the lowered condition controllability and road performance change, the brake way is extended.

Conditions for application of Run-Flat-Tyres are:

– electronic program of stability (ESP);

– system of supervision over pressure loss in tires (DDS);

– сиcтема pressure indications in tires (TPMS).

As thanks to design features and comfort at movement the tire puncture under the defined circumstances could remain unnoticed.

At the lowered tires further run with a speed Max is possible. 80 miles/h on distance to 80 km. With emergency properties, depending on the manufacturer of tires, it is possible to learn tires on ROF or SSR designation on a lateral wall of a tire. They are possible only in a combination with resolved Opel light-alloy rims, this rule operates the same for winter tires.

NOTE In the conditions of maintenance installation of such tires is possible by means of devices available on sale for installation of tires.
