2.9.1. Filling and air removal from cooling system
Cooling system (engines of 1,4 l)
* Use only antifreeze 19 40 656/90 297 545 (dark blue) to MY 2001 and only antifreeze 19 40 650/09 194 431 (red) with MY 2001 in 50 % of a mix with water.
** At temperature of cooling liquid of 20 °C/68 of °F.
Cooling system (engines of 1,6 l)
* Use only antifreeze 19 40 650/09 194 431 (red) in 50 % of a mix with water.
** At temperature of cooling liquid of 20 °C.
Cooling system (engines of 1,8 l)
* Use only antifreeze 19 40 656/90 297 545 (dark blue) to MY 2001 and only antifreeze 19 40 650/09 194 431 (red) with MY 2001 in 50 % of a mix with water.
** At temperature of cooling liquid of 20 °C/68 of °F.
Check
Always use antifreeze 1940650/9194431 (red). Be convinced that concentration makes: 50 % of water and 50 % of antifreeze. Antifreeze not only protects all system of cooling from freezing, but also protects everything the parts which were washed by cooling liquid from deposits and corrosion.
Quality of water also plays important role. Water of drinking quality usually meets these requirements.
The engine can be damaged when using not recommended antifreeze.
If the radiator, a head of the block of cylinders or laying of a head of the block of cylinders were replaced, old cooling liquid should not be used repeatedly.

ATTENTION
At replacement of cooling liquid on cars with the conditioner: switch off the conditioner and establish an ESO mode.

Open cooling system.

ATTENTION
The system of cooling is under pressure.
|
Unscrew a cover of a broad tank of cooling liquid.
Fill in cooling liquid to bottom marks of a broad tank of cooling liquid.
Close cooling system.
Wrap a cover of a broad tank of cooling liquid.
Let's to the engine get warm at 2500 mines-1 before turning on of the fan of a radiator.
Remove air from cooling system.
Let's to the engine work during about 2 mines at 2000–2500 mines-1.

NOTE
Air from system of cooling is removed through branch lines.

Stop the engine and let's to it cool down.
Check level of cooling liquid and add cooling liquid to «COOL» label.
