6.3.1. Adjustment of lay brake system

For cars with drum-type brake mechanisms: adjust the drum-type brake mechanism.

Uncover diagnostic connection.

Separate the lever of a drive of lay brake system from the central console and lift up.

Weaken an adjusting nut completely.

Establish the lever of a drive of lay brake system in situation "0" it (is switched off).

Press a brake pedal completely at least 5 times.

NOTE For adjustment of a course of lay brake system of a brake support or a brake drum – be convinced that each time when at inclusion of lay brake system, the pedal of a brake comes back to initial situation (is completely unloaded). In cars with drum-type brake mechanisms it is impossible to hear operation of the adjusting lever.

Lift the lever of a drive of lay brake system of 5 times against the stop and again lower.

Lift the lever of a drive of lay brake system on 2 clicks.

Turn an adjusting nut on the lever of a drive of lay brake system before emergence of notable resistance to rotation of back wheels.

NOTE The braking effort should be equal on both wheels.

Lift the lever of a drive of lay brake system on 3 clicks.

NOTE Wheels should be blocked on the 3rd click.

Fix the goffered cabins of the lever of lay brake system on the central console.

Attach a cover of diagnostic connection.
