8.1. Features of a design

The body of Opel cars bearing four-door, consists of a framework and hinged elements. The framework of a body includes the basis, боковины, a roof and the details of a framework connected with each other by electric welding (dot, sutural and arc), and represents not folding design possessing sufficient rigidity and capable to bear on itself all units of the car, hinged knots of a body, knots and interior details.

The body consists of several parts connected among themselves, forming the whole parts of a lobby and a back frame. Separate parts of a body promote achievement of limiting durability of a body therefore supervise welding in the course of performance of repair work.

If at carrying out repair work factory consolidation or an anticorrosive covering collapses or damaged, on details of the lower part of a body put an anticorrosive covering and consolidation. When drawing an anticorrosive covering on a detail of the lower part of a body apply anticorrosive chromium plating or something similar. Application of the combined means is not recommended.

The bottom casing of a transmission – the uniform steel element serving for protection of the lower part of a transmission. This covering protects from hit of small stones, gravel or other subjects in a transmission in the conditions of normal driving.

Lateral doors, cowl, back door, forward wings, buffers and radiator facing belong to hinged knots. Doors, a cowl and a trunk lid fasten on a body by means of loops. Forward wings fasten to a body bolts.

Forward and back bufer fasten bolts. Facing of a radiator fastens by means of plastic clamps and screws.

Windscreen three-layer Triplex type. Glasses of doors, lateral and back flew down the tempered. Wind, back and lateral glasses are pasted in window apertures of a body.

Forward seats separate, with mechanisms of adjustment of an inclination of backs and movings in the longitudinal direction, with the easily removable head restraints regulated on height. A back seat with an integral pillow and a back divided by a folding armrest into two parts.

Lobbies and back lateral seat belts inertial, and back belt of the average passenger the zone not inertial.

In salon of the car the lighter, forward and back ashtrays, antisolar peaks, a heater, rear-view mirrors, hand-rail are established. Under a seat of the driver fastening for the fire extinguisher is provided.

The car is equipped with forward and back eyes for towage.

Management of ventilation and heating of salon is carried out in an automatic mode by the controler. If the car is equipped with climatic installation, the controler also operates a microclimate in salon in an automatic mode.
